Thunderbird 31.1.1 right click not working on big sur

Upgraded OS to Big Sur (11.4) and TB right click works first 2 or 3 times then right click fails to open pop up menu until closing TB and restarting. Then same pattern repeats.

Please advise how to fix.

The current and supported version of Thunderbird is 78. Anything earlier is no longer supported. I suggest you update your version of Thunderbird and if the issue persists then update this topic with that information. V31 has certainly not been tested with big sur.

I assume Thunderbird 78 has been tested and is comparable with Big Sur - correct?

I need to keep my current profile. Will a TB V31 profile work with V78?

If not is there some way to convert the existing profile to work with V78 and if so how can you tell me how to do it?
