I use Mozilla VPN to establish a VPN connection via a VPN server in UK (London or Manchester). In Firefox I enter the address https://www.bbc.co.uk to access the BBC homepage in UK. This address changes immediately to https://www.bbc.com. This is the international BBC homepage with different content. Conclusion: https://www.bbc.co.uk does not recognize the VPN server in London or Manchester as UK based.

Similarly I cannot access the video material on the educational pages https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize. When I try I get the message: "This content is not available in your location."

Any suggestions?

Thank you for reaching out,

Unfortunately, some websites and streaming services disallow usage of VPN and will block access if they detect you’re using one. There’s no current workaround for this as it’s a decision made on their end of things, not ours. It may be something we can look at working around in the future.

Temporarily turning the VPN off when accessing these websites would work, but I understand that's not an ideal solution. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello, thank you for the response.

Turning off the VPN will not help. Reason: I am not resident in the UK. I use Mozilla VPN with VPN server in UK to circumvent geoblocking on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize.

Sometimes I can access https://www.bbc.co.uk after I disconnected and reconnected the UK based VPN servers several times. But this is not a solution.

I have the same issue. I'm US based and was hoping to use the VPN to watch the Euros but get get the message: "This content is not available in your location." Don't really see the point of having the VPN.
