can't connect to internet because of proxy settings, can't change them

Trying to connect to internet using Moto 5G with Android 7.1.1 I get the above message. Firefox menu doesn't show the options tab to change the proxy settings. By switching the phone off and on, sometimes internet connection works for some minutes. After that the internet connections fails again and the same message is displayed.

Proxy settings are underneath your Wifi connection.
