Do not leacve the message that causes it to open selected when you close Thunderbird. I see it all the ime, opening in a browser window when I am reading RSS feeds that have that insidious twitter tracking script in them. (nice how twitter, facebook et al all track everyone on every page that has their logo customer or not.)

There is a bug open at the moment to fix the issue, but I do not think a fix will be forthcoming quickly. This tracking stuff is fairly insidious to defeat.
