How to block *everything* from Google Maps?

I can't simply avoid maps(dot)google.com, chrome(dot)google.com, and other Google migraine-triggers, because other sites, such as newspapers, often embed migraine-triggers from Google.

I currently block Javascript from Google, and try to block animation everywhere.

I haven't tested this on maps(dot)google.com, but I recently tested this on chrome(dot)google.com. I expected the usual blank page. I got the animation instead, which hurts. Worse than useless. I am concerned that if disabling Javascript doesn't block the migraine-triggers, I'll need another solution. Maybe blocking *everything* from Google Maps will work, but I can't find any how-to instructions.
