Thunderbird for Mac consumes much battery power

Hi folks,

I love Thunderbird and I'm using it also on my Mac. Unfortunately Thunderbird's consuming very much battery power. If Thunderbird is opened, the battery'll last two or three hours less than without a running Thunderbird. That's annoying.

I fear there's not much I can do against that. Do you have anny suggestions or do I have to wait for an update which fixes this problem, if there's coming an update someday.

Make sure nothing is spinning in the status bar. Try THunderbird in safe mode.
