How can I change an IMAP server on an existing T-bird account after T-bird deleted the saved password and IMAP server for that account? I tried to change the IMAP server address for an existing T-bird account, but T-bird and/or my ISP deleted the saved password and IMAP server entry for that account, so T-bird cannot get incoming E-mails. I would like to add an/the IMAP server back to the account without deleting the account, adding all of its settings again, and waiting 6 hours for T-bird to re-download all of the most recent 10,000 messages in the Inbox and all of the 15,000 messages in other folders again. The SMTP server and its saved password are still in the Saved Passwords table.

Whilst exploring settings I managed to create a second duplicate "stgilb@optusnet.com.au" account/profile, ie two inboxes,drafts,sent,spam & trash. In trying to eliminate the duplicate I succeeded in creating a triplicate. How do I return to a single account/profile?

A solution would be greatly appreciated.

After swapping to The Bat some years ago I decided to come back to Thunderbird again. So I installed Thunderbird 155.0.1 (64-bit) on my Windows 11 PC, and gradually re-created and connected the the accounts I had on the back. I also installed the ImportExportTools NG addon, then exported my emails from The Bat to Thunderbird. So far so good. However for some reason I created an account twice. There are both for the same GMX account, but one is POP and the other is iMAP. This mistake probably happened after a long session of setting things up and I just forgot about the first account.

I looked through the Thunderbird help and the answer most given was to the Thunderbird menu, select Account Settings, swap to the account you want to delete, and then press the large red DELETE BUTTON on the top level of its settings (next to the DEFAULT button). I've tried this and it doesn't work. There's no confirmation dialog (which is what I was expecting) and if I close and reboot Thunderbird the account is still there.

How can this be fixed?

Since this morning there is no sign of my emails accounts and majority of functions appear disabled, it never happened before. Can somebody explain what happened?

when trying to restore/add a gmail account, all my account settings disappeared. Trying again to restore/add a gmail account, an error is showing 'Incoming server already exists' and I cannot connect.

I am trying to add IdeasDale@zohomail.com to my Thunderbird email. It is set as Incoming – imap -- Port: - 993 Server: - imap.zoho.com Outgoing – smtp –- Port: - 465 Server: - smtp.zoho.com

I recently installed a new computer and can't create a pop3 account. having issues with accounts in my Thunderbird. when I go to account settings and click through the different accounts None of the details are changiong on the right panel, and I can't edit anything as it won't save.. I also can not delete any of the accounts, it just does nothing. I was just trying to add an acocunt, and somehow have come across issues.

I have attached a screenshot to assist If anyone knows what's happening please give me some direction It would be much appreciated.

I use Thunderbird (153.2 0esr) on a win 11 PC.

I have some POP email accounts with btinternet which work.

I want to change. them to IMAP accounts using the same email addresses.

Before I do this I have several minor problems within Thunderbird, which I would like to sort out before copying the Thunderbird files as a backup.

Rather than list them all, it's possible that fixing the first may solve others.

When I open Thunderbird I see this message... see FIRSTCalendar if it hasn't been inserted into the text

I have never (knowingly) used BT's calendar. Clicking cancel removes the report and does not stop any of the BT mail accounts working.

I tried using the username and password of the default account but password of the default account without success. At a later stage this appears...

The address displayed is one that I have deleted from my BT Email account.

It is no longer shown as one of my BT accounts in the email management page in MYBT or in Thunderbird

Again, clicking Cancel does not stop my BT email accounts working.

Any suggestions how to fix this, would be welcome.

We can access our Orange accounts directly (www.orange.fr) and deal with our emails using passwords stored by Password Manager. We can not sign in to Orange through Thunderbird. The passwords saved by Password Manager are not recognised. Orange have introduced a system that produces a 23 character Password which is then entered into the password field in Account Settings: this is supposed to be permanent and unique to the account. When I followed this procedure I got the error message 'Incoming server already exists', for both IMAP and POP3. We are on Windows 10 and Opera; Can you help please?

I'm trying to remove a couple accounts that I no longer use in Thunderbird. A window keeps popping up asking for a password, but the mail service is no longer available. When I click on the red delete button for that account, nothing happens. I've deleted all the mail in one of them which I was able to do as I thought I might need to do that first, but I still can't delete it after that. The other one won't even let me delete the emails. How do I delete these so I stop getting asked to put in a password for accounts that are no longer valid and I don't want anymore?

My computer crashed and cannot recover anything from it. I cannot remember where my e-mail is. I remembered Yahoo and got my account back in that but cannot remember how to get back into my Thunderbird acccount. I remember my address but that isn't doing me any good without the actual e-mail account.

I have two email accounts, one is showing 5% of 100GB and the other is showing 94% of 3.9GB. Why the large difference? I cannot find anything about there being a Quota nor was I aware there was one when I signed up or if this is correct how to get a larger quota. Any advice appreciated please. Mike

can anyone shed some light on how to resolve my issue here where........ having more than one hotmail account confuses the *Identities* for each mailbox,

in Thunderbird properties one goes into each accounts *Account settings* then to *Manage Identities* (at the bottom of the page)......there one sets the *default* identity for that email account. The problem I'm encountering is when there are more than a single hotmail account one cannot select more than just one identity to fill into that space. One sets a *default* identity & that single identity doesn't allow the other hotmail identities to function properly. I am getting a constant *Failed to connect to server @ outlook.office.365.com.* because two of the three the identity trying connect to the server are not the *default* identity. The *default* identity will connect to the server. I have 3 hotmail accounts loaded into Thunderbird anyone know of a solution to this?

A hacker got into one of my accounts. All emails to all accounts do not get past the Yahoo and Google servers and I've only been able to restore service through principal account. How can I save my data and correct the compromised settings?

When using the Unified Inbox to compose a new email, the From address is the Default Address of the first account created in Thunderbird. Presently I am having issues with that addresses server so I want to default any new mail to the Default Address of one of my other accounts. Anyy help with this?

Hi, I have two accounts in my Thunderbird. They are Gmail (regular gmail account) and CFCC (an institutional account). The CFCC shows up in my Unified Folder list but the Gmail does not. Is that normal? The main Inbox is showing all incoming emails from both accounts so no performance issues, just wondering how to get rid of the CFCC (if that's possible) to eliminate clutter.
