Hello Thunderbird. I have used the product for years across Win95, Win7. I have graphics trouble with Win10 after an update last year. Some times the email text has strange colours and the odd missing character. Opening an attachment always has funny yellow or green chunky background. Zoom +/- cures this. See attachments. The display driver is AMD Radeon graphics. 504MB used. Single screen. The processor is AMD A10-9700 Radeon R7, 10 Compute cores. 8GB RAM The machine is a standard out of the box HP Pavilion PC 570. ON thunderbird no extensions or themes. Hope you can help! Thanks Mike

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have lost all stored folders with my email correspondence from the Local Folders for an unknown reason (I restarted my computer, and they disappeared). I can find some of these emails using the search option, but I cannot see the path of their storage location. I have checked my Profile/Mail/Local Folders, but they are not there. Are they stored on the server? How can I recover these folders?

The system was working fine. The next day, when starting Thunderbird (TB, the status line shows logging in to server but loops; no errors or messages, Thunderbird is 'locked out' spinning. I see the normal INBOX page, but logging in never completes. NO CHANGES were made to TB accounts or settings. I have re-installed TB, re-booted, but no change. I cannot check/change any of the accounts or do any further 'debugging' because TB is spinning. The server login is fine because Webmail can be used. Internet connection is fine, because browser works. 1. How can I stop TB from trying to login at start up? 2. What could/would cause this behaviour?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I have been using the same Email Address and Thunderbird for Downloading my Emails for over 10 years. Now Thunderbird will Not Install. Am getting a strange Error Message ... Authentication Error : Unable To Log in at Server. This has happened on 3 machines. Why is it now impossible to Install Thunderbird on Windows 10 machines.

Is there any way to communicate with Mozilla ThunderBird  ? It worked for over 10 years, but now won't even Install. Has there been some sort of Sabotage ? Why the strange error messages  ? Continous mandates to change usernames and passwords ?

I have a particular need to periodically run junk mail filters on a folder in Local Folders that I know will contain mostly junk mail. According to a search engine, the command to do filtering on particular folders should come up in a junk mail tab when you right click on a folder and look under properties. When I right click on a folder, however, I never see a junk mail tab under properties or anywhere else. Where to I find the command to do junk mail filtering on a specific folder? Greatly appreciate any assistance.

I found what appears to be a reproducible bug when forwarding messages with attachments.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open an email with a JPG attachment. 2. Click Forward. 3. Save the message as Draft (IMAP Drafts). 4. Without closing the compose window, save the draft again.

Result:

The second save always fails with:

"An error occurred attaching 20260520_123800.jpg. Please check whether you have access to the file."

Error Console shows:

Failed to fetch attachment NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND url=file:///C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Local/Temp/nsmail-1.jpg

I also observed that after the first draft save Thunderbird deletes:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail-1.jpg

However, the compose window still references this deleted temporary file.

Additional observations:

- Creating a new message and attaching a file from disk works correctly. - Forwarding a message without attachments works correctly. - Removing the forwarded attachment and attaching the same file from disk also works correctly. - Closing and reopening the saved draft restores normal behavior.

This appears to be a bug where the compose window continues using a deleted temporary attachment instead of the attachment stored in the IMAP draft.

Can anyone reproduce this with Thunderbird 152.0.1?

I have a desktop that is windows 10. I use Mozilla for four email accounts, 3 of my accounts work fine. My problem is with TWC. Emails sent/forward and cant save drafts often fail. When I sign into spectrum webmail, my Mozilla TWC account works again for a while. This started about 2 weeks ago. I'm using version firefox version 151.0.2. I've eliminated Spectrum as being the issue and all my settings are correct. Thoughts?

for some reason emails move from inbox to trash by themselves. I have posted this before and did not get any help to fix this. Has anyone else had this problem. I am not very computer savvy so please if you can explain in plain language. Very frustrating. Thanks ahead of time

I had difficulty getting my thunderbird email to open. Then, when it did open, it uploaded all emails in duplicate. I now have a very full inbox in both my accounts. How can I get thunderbird to remove the duplicates? It would take forever to do this manually.

I used to have Thunderbird on this laptop and was using Microsoft Office 365. I have since stopped using it from GoDaddy. I uninstalled the old Thunderbird and reinstalled a new version. I am trying to enter the new server settings but I keep getting the old Office 365 settings showing up. How do I get rid of that and find the new settings page to enter the new settings?

All my old email accounts are showing up and I only want to add 2 to the new Thunderbird. I thought uninstalling would delete all the old stuff. Please help.

Hi, When i start the TB-client on a win10 desctop there will be an Authentication error connecting to server imap.gmail.com.

from Google: 400. An error has occurred, The server cannot process the request because its format is incorrect. The request should not be made again. Unfortunately, we don't know more than that!

It still seems like the email arrives to the gmail account. But it turns out that the email doesn't always arrive via sync. Do you see any problems with the TB and gmail connection?

For the moment I don't know the Thunderbird version, I will be back.

Full errror: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

Operating system Windows 10. I have Thunderbird installed on three computers. Two on Windows 10 and one on Windows 11. I have two accounts Helen and Kevin. I have no problems with my Kevin account on the there computers. The error only occures with my Helen account and only on the Windows 10 computers. Not the Windows 11 computer. Can you fix this?

I had issues two weeks ago with my emails being full. They added more space and one of my coworkers emails started to go into my Spam folder. Then today they showed up in my inbox and after I read them they disappeared completly. Right after that every email since he started with us last year disappeared off my inbox. Hello, since 2 weeks the IMAP settings don't work. I didn't change anything with the accounts. Regularly I had to update the settings on my android version and it works well. But on my windows version ou on my linux version it doesn't work. I enter different name (the surname only, user name, or the mail address or name and surname). I tried all the options but it didin't word. I stopped trying last week on Thursday and tried again friday afternoon. I tried again several options and it works until saturday. Again I didn't change anything. I receive the notifications (in french) : "can't access the server outlook.office365.com" for the accounts. It was on my windows version AND on my linux version. I really don't know how I can fix it. I cleared the cache several times. Verified the server names. Today I serched for the settings on outlook for the IMAP server but didn't find how to change or disable it (the option were not visible on the setting page). I deleted the accounts to add them later but when the windows popup open even if I enter my password, and the code (if necessary) thunderbird send a message like "error. verify the id, username, address or password". I tried with the new thunderbird version on windows (because mine was old) - didn't work either. I don't know what to do or try now.

I have the android version and it works well, but this is on a secondary device and I absolutely need my mails on my main device and I really love using thunderbird. I even installed it on my kids devices. I really don't want to install another email client.... and absolutely not outlook T-T.... My thunderbird on linux is updated and didn't work too. But it's on my main device too, so if you can help me make it work on linux, I'll be happy ^-^.

I thought it was a connexion problem but even when I change it, it didn't work (on windows or linux).

Please can you help me fix this problem ?

Edit : Just wanted to add that the version on Linux (Mint) is the 140.12.0esr

Thunderbird on 2 computers when mails are deleted on first computer it then lands in TRASH but it also deletes them on second computer where it does not land in TRASH.
