Hi all,

I installed Thunderbird a few months ago to transfer emails from an email account that is about to be shut down to my Google email account.

I now want to uninstall Thunderbird (and delete all its files from my computer, including emails) but am worried my Google emails will also get deleted (e.g., due to syncing?) in this process.

I would have loved to keep Thunderbird installed but, due to my personal laptop being unavailable when this email transfer began a few months ago, I had to install Thunderbird on my work laptop instead, and I do not want Thunderbird to stay on my work laptop anymore (my employer allows employees to install any software but I will feel better if I just delete Thunderbird from the work laptop at this point).

Migrating from a Win 10 laptop to a Win 11 laptop. Need to move the local folders as well but they were assigned a different ID and I can't change the target address in the new installation. Thanks in advance for your help. Rick.

When I forward message with some attachments, new windows opens, with e-mail and attachments, and I can open and review them. If I edit (or not) that message, for no more than couple minutes, I can send it without problems.

But if I left windows open for some time (let say more than 10 minutest, but I not figured out exact amount), I can't view attachments. If I double-click on icons, nothing happens. If I try to send that message, I get message about missing file.

I've noticed, that after opening new window with forwarded message, attachments are copied to %TEMP% folder as nsmail.pdf (or jpg or something). After some time (10 or more minutes as mentioned before) these files disappear, and then problem begins.

The same problem occurs with MAPI generated message with attachment.

Problem tested at two PCs, one PC with 32bit viersion of TB and IMAP, and another with 64bit and POP.

Briefly, I want to move some more prior years' archived folders and messages to TBird's Local Folders. My effort to simply drag and drop the archive to the new location ran into trouble because (as I understand) the archive flag was not turned off in the move, leading to anomalous results. Is there a standard approved way to move archived messages to local folders, or should I just drag and drop and de-flag again?

I expect I created the problem somehow when I moved the 2024 folder from the server to Local Folders; what is the proper way to do that?

The sent message is deleted but I get Filter action Failed.

A weird thing has started happening to my Thunderbird inbox in the last couple of days. Emails are showing as from a totally different sender. For example, a Google search on Sondheim has been "sent" by EDF (my electricity supplier) and some Groupon emails are showing as coming from people I correspond with. Also a Keto bread recipe from a low carb group I belong to has been "sent" by one of my work clients! More weirdly, I copied them into a subfolder on my inbox and they then appeared correctly. I have tried repairing the folder but it made no difference.

To Whom it concerns, It has been about 4-5 days since I can't receive my e-mail. I have e-mail you different times with errors coming up. When I open my mail since yesterday an error now says error with acct. cray9@oh.rr.com. Another error occurred with the POP3mail server. The mailbox closes. Then a box comes up Thunder Bird crash reporter then I can put why and then restart my e-mail. It does try to load my e-mail then stops. And now my password box doesn't come up to put my password in. Last it says connection to mail.twc.com was reset then once again the mailbox closes. Please help, I have been a customer with Thunder Bird for years. Thank you!!

I have used thunderbird for many years and was always very pleased with how easy it is to search for old emails, using just about anything--an email address, a word in the subject line, or anywhere else. Lately, it no longer finds all the message for a simple thing, like an email address. Has something changed?

Also it seems that copies of my emails are not necessarily kept locally in that it often says it has to download my messages off the server, which can take a bit of time. In the past it has only downloaded new messages, but now it seems to download everything.

All this leave me with the sinking feeling that my whole online record could disappear at any minute. Any ideas?

Until recently the folder pane could be sized or hidden via the double-headed arrowed cursor. Shortly after the 151.0.1 update this stopped working. All suggested solutions have not worked. A full uninstall (Revo Uninstall) and completely new profile has not fixed the problem. Folder pane only responds to the menu setting and is only Open/close but no sizing.

But because the create filter dialog locks out its parent window Then I have to lose what I entered, then find where I want to create a new folder create the folder there and now start over from scratch building my new filter

Also when you create a filter, you should be able to see test matches for the filter you just made There should be a check box to, "run this filter now after creation" The dialog should not lock out its parent window !

I have created folders that I want specific emails to be put in when they arrive. But I don't know where to create these rules. Creating the folders is easy but how do I create a rule that tells Thunderbird which folder to put emails from specific people/businesses etc

When I try to delete mail from Deleted folder (even if there is just 1 email), the thuderbird gets unresponsive. Same when i try to select few emails (headers) for deletion or moving to another folder. Running on Windows 11

When I add a calendar event, it defaults to Holidays in US. How do I change this to the calendar associated with my email address? I often forget to change the desired calendar. Also, How do I edit the Holidays calendar? Thanks BigSam

Hi, bit of a strange ome. I have 4 email account in Thunderbird. One is my AOL account and one is my wifes AOL account. This morning my emails suddenly started appearing in both my AOL account and my wifes AOL account while her emails don't appar at all. I've deleteing her account and setting it up again but the same thing happpens. I'm at a loss. Can you help?

A category (Daily Brain something) of emails that are clearly spam (you even think they are spam) are landing in my Inbox every day. I have my email set to not allow emails from any addresses that aren't in my book. If I follow their 'unsubscribe' link, I just get more of them. Hi, Since approx. 1 month, I cannot receive nor send emails from my Windows 11 desktop computer. My ISP is Videotron and they tell me that from their end, everything is fine and the configuration is fine. If I use the Videotron Web Service, I can send and receive emails using the Videotron Web Services but these are not reflected on my Thunderbird email interface. If I try to send an email from Thinderbird, I get this message # # * * Sending of the message failed.

1. # * * An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: smtp.videotron.ca Videotron ZGdcwFfPIz2we service temporarily unavailable AUP#EML-016.'

On my Android smartphone, Thunderbird is installed and it works perfectly...I can send and receive emails.

What can be done to make sure that I can send and receive emails from my computer, and to keep the smartphone and computer synchronized. Thank you

I've been using Thunderbird on Windows 10 since last year sometime. Currently I'm on version 151.0.1.

I've 4 x mailboxes here and since yesterday, 3 of them show me an unusual message when checking for emails. I tried attaching a screenshot but although the screenshot uploaded, I couldn't find a way to insert it here. But the message says Unable to write the email to the mailbox and asks me to check if I've write privileges (which I have) and to cheek the available disk space.(currently 101GB free).

The message is happening 2 or 3 times each day and lasts for about half an hour, then everything works fine again. Has anyone else seen this??

Login to server Mail.acsalaska.net with username napavalley@acsalaska.net failed I can't get emails. The program worked fine and then suddenly the error message appeared and won't stop
