Hi all,

Is there a way to export/backup all the emails and folders from an account using Thunderbird for Android? I've searched around and can't find any sign of it, or mention here on support.mozilla.org or elsewhere on the web, so I presume that the feature doesn't exist, however I thought I'd ask here just in case.

My use case is that I've got an old email account which I want to backup before I migrate away from it.

I have imported from my Windows desktop program to Thunderbird Android App using the QR code, but existing messages are not appearing, only new ones.

Before asking my question, I have to say that I have been extremely happy that Thunderbird introduced their app. for phones. Historically, I have had many problems with my desktop version, and even now there are days that I cannot send e-mails from my desktop, but that's a question for another time.

My question now is, am I somehow able to access my local folders that my son set up on my desktop (in order not to clog up my allowance), on my phone? The local folders are in the menu on my desktop, but not on my phone.

i have thunderbird on my pc and i now have it on my android phone the accounts have transfered over with all of the folders but the contents of the folders are missing, they are still there on the pc can anyone help?

How do I transfer emails from Thunderbird Desktop to Thunderbird Android?

I have successfully imported my settings, but I want to add all my emails that are currently on my desktop.

I exported all my 5 email accounts from Desktop Thunderbird to mobile Thunderbird. All were successful except for two accounts which only have one folder visible, the Outbox. All accounts are sycnhed and Manage Folders displays no folders. Help please to resolve problem.

I want to use POP3 (limited Serverspace). When the mails are deleted on the server and stored on the phone, i would like to backup the mailbox. Where does Thunderbird for Android save POP3 Mailboxes? OR Is there a Backup-Restore Feature for POP3 Mailboxes? Thaks a lot!

Hello, is there any chance that I can connect in the Thunderbird APP on my phone to my 'Local Folders' used in my Home Desktop version of Thunderbird?

For example:

With my Android smartphone I'm connected via VPN to my local network at home.
In the Thunderbird APP on my mobile phone I now would like to connect to the folder "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles..." which is located on my Home Desktop PC to see all eMails stored in this path.

The behavior and funktionality in the Thunderbird APP should be the same as on my Desktop PC.

Hopefully I described it understandable...

I have downloaded the Thunderbird App on my new Samsung phone.

I now need to transfer all data and emails across but the old phone has already been wiped and phone sold.

I need to transfer from your server/cloud.

Is there anyway I can shift all my folders,storage and local from my pc to my tablet at the same time as I load the app? In otherwords I want exactly the same email situation on my tablet as that is now on my pc .I wish to ditch my obsolete pc. Perhaps someone can steer me in the right direction.

Using an add on I can export TB PC inbox to mbox. But there seems to be no way to import this to TB Android. Any suggestions, please?

pop3, all emails are stored on TB PC and some on TB Android. No emails stored on server.

Hello. I successfully copied my email accounts into TB for Android app on my phone. I had hoped that I could elect to copy over my Local (desktop) Folders too. It didn't have the option. I'm sure I can copy the Local Folders to my phone's SD card. Q: What app would you recommend I use to find and read these emails ? Would the TB for A app be able to do this ? Thanks for reading. One feature missing from K9/Thunderbird for android is ability to view the complete email headers and text. Having the option to not only view headers is to view and export the complete email message. Can the developers add that ability in upcoming versions?

My android phone has access to a USB pen-drive on which I placed a backup copy of all my TB folders. Can I use TB for android locally to read these emails? How? Thank you.

i know that thunderbird for android works differently than desktop version, that's ok. i ask here to add to thunderbird-android function of backup emails to mbox-file, collect emails from selected server and make backup in mbox file which can than be opened in thunderbird-desktop. i must emphasize, i don't ask that thunderbird-android should be capable of handling mbox-files, this would be pure backup functionality.

Произвела экспорт всех данных с почты с компьютера на телефон. Прогрузились входящие сообщения, исходящие отсутствуют. Не отображаются также и новые отправленные сообщения. Сообщения отправляются, но в списке исходящих их нет.

Hi, I use TB for quite a while on my pc. Tried to use TB 4 A. I used the import function. Got 3 accts. Scanned the QR code and it seemed to import all of them. But then I noticed the Gmail POP acct was not showing any entries. I got confused, so I uninstalled and then Only imported the Gmail account. Nothing was there in any folder.

Is there a problem with POP? The documentation says no.
