When I first install an extension, there is an option to pin that extension icon to the Firefox taskbar. But if I later unpin it, then I can never repin it back to the taskbar. In older editions of Firefox, long ago, there were ships wheel icons next to the extensions in the extension list. There was choice to "pin to the taskbar", but now there are no ship's wheel icons in the list. And therefore no way to repin the extension to the taskbar. Therefore, once I unpin an extension icon from the taskbar, I have no way to pin it back up there.

the go back to previous page shortcut is annoying and it kept messing with my work and I want to disable it I use touchpad and accidentally goes back to previous page all the time and sometimes I have to redo my unsaved work because of this. Please disable this arrow in a blue circle thing

The shortcut change feature in Firefox does not have an option to disable CTRL+SHIFT+S shortcut function that saves the screen. Is it possible to disable tor change the shortcut. Very frustrating. Thank you.

Hi, I recently started using Firefox's beta built-in VPN and look forward to the protection it will provide. Since quite a while Firefox is trying to enhance our browsing security by "upgrading" connections from "http" to "https." This may generally be a good idea, but it is literally driving me crazy at the moment because it also does so for "internal" sites I host within my LAN (such as my "Home Assistant" instance or a Zigbee coordinator, accessible via its own hostname and web UI). However, these connections will fail, because I don't have certificates for my internal hosts, and thus there is no "https" listener. :-(

(I use my own subdomain "<host>.city.internal.example.org" internally, so Firefox may be confused?)

I feel this behavior has become "more aggressive" within the last few days, so maybe it is due to a Firefox update?

Is there a bullet-proof way to prevent Firefox from doing so?

I'd like to know how to hide the previews for vertical tabs in Firefox. I've already unchecked the "Show preview image when hovering over tabs" option in the settings. Is it impossible to hide them?

I tried a restore but the only date available for bookmarks was today (jsonlz4 file). I tried other online suggestions but I cannot locate any old files to restore from. If I cannot get them back, I will switch browsers because the loss is unacceptable.

I am running Firefox on Kubuntu, which means it comes pre-installed as a Flatpak.

I was having problems with various web sites so I decided to try using the version of Firefox installed with the file found here - https://www.firefox.com/en-US/thanks/

There were no problems with the install. This version of Firefox showed the same issues as the Flatpak version, so I blame the web sites.

Now I have two versions of Firefox. I would like to remove this second version but all the methods I've found do not remove it. I can certainly disable it by renaming the directory created in my user directory /Firefox. Trouble is, shortcuts I created to web sites always launch this version rather than the Flatpak version and I can't find a way to get the shortcuts to use the Flatpak version.

When using the built-in Firefox AI sidebar and clicking the "Summarize page" button, I consistently get the error: "431 Request Header Fields Too Large" from chatgpt.com.

Previously, changing a privacy setting temporarily helped: switching from "block all cross-site cookies" to "block cross-site tracking cookies and isolate other cross-site cookies". After that, the feature started working.

However, after restarting the browser today, the issue returned, and changing this setting no longer helps.

I would also like to note that currently there is no way to disable or hide the "Summarize page" button, even though I did not need it initially. I tried to configure things so it would work properly, but was unable to do so.

Steps to reproduce:

Open any webpage Open the Firefox AI sidebar Click "Summarize page" Observe error 431

Expected behavior: Page summary should be generated successfully.

Actual behavior: The request fails with HTTP 431 error.
