Lately, I've been getting a popup, supposedly from Google, about signing into gmail. It seems suspicious, because I haven't had trouble getting gmail on Thunderbird. My questions: 1) Is it legitimate 2) What should I do

You get this prompt when your Gmail account is IMAP, and you set 'OAuth2' as 'Authentication type' in your account settings. So in that case it's legitimate.
