My Bookmarks disappeared today between using FIREFOX
I logged on to my computer this morning started FireFox around 7:15 am CST. I checked my mail and the closed out FireFox. All bookmarks appeared to be normal. I returned around 8:30 am CST. Started FireFox went to select a Bookmark, all that appeared were the defaults that you get after an installation.

Do you still have all your other profile data like saved password and extensions?
Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
