Firefox home page opens instead of the webpage I want
I have to keep re-installing Firefox as my desktop shortcuts to various webpages stop working and Firefox homepage opens instead.
If I delete and re-install Firefox, they work for a couple of days, then I'm back to the home page opening instead.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Some security software does have virtualization features that can cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
Hi - I have Microsoft Security Essentials and the normal Windows firewall.
Shortcuts are o.k. for 2-3 days after re-installing Firefox, then revert to opening Mozilla homepage.
