I have firefox 5 and it seems to be causing a problem. I tried to delete it with the wiew of reloading later. But it refuses to be deleted.. Why?
I wish to delete firefox 5. It will not delete using the normal method in the control panel. I would say this proves that my Firefox is corrupted?

-> Close Firefox (ALT + F -> Exit)
-> Open Task Manager (CTRL + ALT + DEL) -> under Processes section Right-click firefox.exe and select End Process Tree -> Close Task Manager
-> Now go to Windows Start menu -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Uninstall Mozilla Firefox
-> My Computer -> go to Tools Menu -> Folder Options... -> View section -> select Radio Button option "Show Hidden Files and Folders" -> close this window
-> Open Windows Start Menu -> click "Run..." -> in the Windows Run box type %APPDATA% -> click OK -> DELETE "Mozilla" folder -> close this window
-> Open Windows Start Menu -> click "Run..." -> in the Windows Run box type %TEMP% -> click OK -> click UP button once -> open "Application Data" folder -> DELETE "Mozilla" folder -> close this window
-> My Computer -> Program Files -> DELETE "Mozilla" folder -> close this window
-> My Computer -> go to Tools Menu -> Folder Options... -> View section -> select Radio Button option "Do not Show Hidden Files and Folders" -> close this window
-> Restart Computer
Check and tell if its working.
I wish to keep my settings! Will this method allow this?

Thank you for your assistance. I have had problems on 2 laptops since installing firefox 5. The iGoogle gadgets refuse to load properly, and a generally slow loading of pages. Firefox itself takes too long. Also if a version of Firefox refuses to be deleted, in the normal way. Wouldn't it seem strange to you?
-> Close Firefox (ALT + F -> Exit)
Start Firefox in Safe Mode by Holding the SHIFT key while starting Firefox
OR
select "Start -> Run" and enter the following in the Windows Run box:
firefox -safe-mode
OR
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
-> Safe Mode window will appear -> click "Continue in Safe Mode". Now do this:
-> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on Cookies & Cache -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> Firefox will: select "Remember History"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Incompatible/Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
