How do i know if Mozilla Firefox is a scam?
Hello,
I m getting pop ups on laptop from Mozilla Firefox and saying there is a virus. and showing the virus name. and also from McAfee saying that my License expired and needs to be renewed. How do i know if that is a scam??
Thank you

Hi
If your antivirus license has expired, I recommend resolving that soon or moving to the free Windows Defender package.
With that fixed, I recommend running a full antivirus scan and following the guidance that you are given.
The small popups on the bottom right corner are Web Push Notifications from sites you have allowed to send you notifications instead of cancelling. Instead of useful information some may send you junk, spam or fake virus/trojan/anttivirus alerts. You can revoke the sites from sending you notifications.

Hi Jenny, first and foremost: yes, this is a scam.
I m getting pop ups on laptop from Mozilla Firefox […] and also from McAfee saying that my License expired and needs to be renewed. How do i know if that is a scam?
That's a very good question. If you check the sender of the notification, it's not McAfee, it's some gibberish foreign site, and apparently after clicking on it you were taken to another gibberish address — a legitimate site would present itself as coming from the company, this is some random location.
If you follow the steps shared earlier how to revoke permissions for sites previously granted to allow these notifications, you'll see the scam domains in your permission list when following the guide.
