Hi!

My default search engine has always been Firefox for years. Since the last Firefox update, when I select + and get to a New Tab, the search engine changes to Google.

I am on Windows 10. I want the New Tab to stay with Firefox. Any tips?

Thank you for your help! TS

Mozilla the makers of the Firefox web browsers does not have a search engine service of their own. A search engine is for example duckduckgo.com, bing.com, google.com, yahoo.com among many other options.

See these KB articles on how to add/change search engines and how to make a search engine as default. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox

Also since you mentioned New Tab page see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-new-tab-page

This is great information, but I made a mistake in my question. My default search engine was Dogpile.

I don't see Dogpile in the list to choose from. Is there a way to add it?

Thank you! - ToSt

hmm there does not appear to be a option to add search engine in search bar with magnifying glass on dogpile.com

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox#w_mycroft-project-search-engine-plugins

The Mycroft Project does have a couple of Dogpile search engine options on https://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=Dogpile

Hi! I cannot find the magnifying glass. I don't see how to add Dogpile. Is there anyplace I can suggest to add Dogpile to the Mozilla Firefox list?

You have been very helpful. Thanks! - Toni

The magnifying glass in the search bar. I gave you a link to a couple options of dogpile search engines you can add to the search bar.

Mozilla only has a small select list of search engines that Firefox comes with which can vary a little for some language locales as Google is not the main default in those cases.

Hi! I saw you said magnifying glass before, but there's no magnifying glass in the search bar. Please see the attached print screen.

Thank you for your help!! ToSt

The Search Bar on Firefox as that is where you use the search engines.
