Setting up Thunderbird
Hi, I just got a new computer which has Windows 10 mail as the default mail service. (Works OK except program does not allow you to block senders). It was recommended to me to install Thunderbird, which I have done (I have Firefox as my default browser).
TB install went fine and at registration I am asked for my name, email address, and password, which I provided. (I assume they want the password for the ISP, so I entered that). It comes back with Configuration Found! and shows a window with IMAP mobile info pre-typed in (along with a charter.net address). Figuring the info must be correct, I hit "next" and get a yellow box that either my email, password or configuration is wrong. I tried going to manual setup and entering the information my ISP (Spectrum) provided i.e. mail.brighthouse.com, with port settings etc. and get the same response.
I'm not sure what to do next, as I would consider myself a bit digitally challenged and I already made a donation to Mozilla before downloading Thunderbird. Thank you in advance for any advice. Andrew

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your contribution; however, please note that this will not make you treated any different.
It seems that the spectrum email configs are as follows:
Imap: Server: mobile.charter.net Port: 993 Security: SSL Username: Spectrum email address Pasword: Spectrum password
Smtp: Server: mobile.charter.net Port: 587 Security: TLS Username: Spectrum email address Pasword: Spectrum password
