Every time that I go to read my gmail I am asked to type in a password, but when I type in my password I get the message "server at imap.gmail.com failed". This has happened out of the blue.
My gmail stopped coming through after 25th October for no apparent reason. I am asked to type my password, but it fails.

Is the authentication on imap.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com set to OAuth2 or 'normal password'?
