Hello, Windows. Firefox latest. Open a page OK Top left is left arrow Under it is the tabs bar OK Under it are 3 black horizontal lines and when I left mouse button click them they slide the screen accross nicely to the left and put a grey circle (filled) behind the 3 lines. GREAT I like the wide screen and I dont like all the rubbish down the left. My Question is HOW can I save this setup configuration. I have spent tens of hours and no joy. It always reverts back to dross down the left side of the screen as soon as I close the page or open another. Thanks from Nigel. If in YouTube for example Ahhh just seen its not a Firefox problem as there is a YouTube icon next to the lines! Please do you know how to lose the decending: Home Trending subscriptions Library

Thanks

Okay, if I understand correctly, you want to automatically close the YouTube left sidebar when loading the page, but still make it possible to open it manually (i.e., do not permanently hide it).

It is possible to run a little script to close the menu after the page loads, which is the closest thing i found when looking at this 6 weeks ago.

if (document.querySelector('app-drawer#guide').hasAttribute('opened')){ document.querySelector('#guide-button').click(); }

To execute that script against the page automatically instead of by hand, you would need either an extension (the most common type of add-on) or a user script; a user script requires a scripting host extension such as Greasemonkey, Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey.

So this would take a little time and perhaps assistance to set up. I'm going to post a link to this thread on a question where someone is looking for an extension to create. https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/bmdolp/extensions/
