When FF closes, it only saves the last window to close. Need my main window tabs.

FireFox Sync

I was unaware that a whole collection of other instances of little windows and other screens had started. I exited the main screen and found that there were other instances open and after closing them all, I found there was no way to restore my main, usual collection of tabs.

Is there a way to recover my main screen? I used to use TabMix+ which it seems will never reappear, but which would save all open screens. Now is there another way?

Thanks.

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
  • Windows: File -> Exit
  • Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
  • Linux: File -> Quit

If you use the close X then you only close the current window and if there are other windows open then only the last closed window is restored. Firefox remembers some closed windows (3), so you can possibly check "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" to see whether that gives you the window you are looking for.
