Have set Firefox as default on my new computer (Windows 10) but each time I log on I receive a warning . "Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client Service. This problem prevents standard users from signing in. As an administrator you can review .... ." I unistalled Firefox and eventually the warning disappeared. Have now reinstalled Firefox, and the problem is back. Is it connected to setting Firefox the defaullt browser? Does it matter that I cannot 'sign in'? I am not an advanced user!

Hi   !
Would you give this a try:
1 – Head to the Control Panel and click on   'Power Options' 2 – Click the link of the left-hand side  ‘Choose what the power buttons do’ 3 – Click the   ‘Change settings currently unavailable’- link 4 – Tick the ‘Turn on fast start-up’- box under 'Shut-down settings'
If, however, this doesn't work for you,   may I suggest you post a question here:

Good luck and keep us posted   !

Thank you. It worked. In fact i had just received the same solution from someone I had spoken to earlier and had just completed the actions when your response came through. Thank you for confirming the solution. So other frustrated users, have a go!
