I have several e-mail accounts and want to set "the right one" (my work e-mail) as the inviter in meeting invitations in Lightning. In several queries in this forum it is stated that by highlighting the selected calendar and opening up the calendar preference that can be done. I did that and verified that my preferred e-mail was listed in the preference panel. However, if I create a new event and then open the "Invite Attendees" window, my gmail address is still listed as the inviter. This is with Thunderbird 45.2.0 and Lightning 4.7.2 and I am linking to a Google calendar, but does that [really] override the preference in Lightning? Thanks for any help!

My understanding is that a Google calendar will be associated with a Google account which in turn will be associated with a googlemail account.

There are other situations where Google silently replace the from: address by one of their own addresses. I wouldn't be surprised if the same were to happen here.

Thanks Zenos! For background, ("the only reason") I have set up this Google calendar (is) so that I can link my Thunderbird/Lightning calendar with my Blackberry calendar. Any suggestions/ideas for how to stop Google from doing that "silent replace"?

If you are not wed to the google solution, I think the blackberry uses caldav as well as lightning, just move over to GMX. Being based in Germany their privacy is special really compared to what Google offer and they do not play games with outgoing mail.
