With Android 15 enforcing edge-to-edge display layout (drawing content behind the status bar and bottom gesture/navigation bar) by default for apps targeting SDK 35, I would like to know when Firefox for Android will fully integrate this feature. Currently, the status bar is just opaque dark gray in dark theme (see screenshot).

Full edge-to-edge support would make browsing feel significantly more immersive, especially on devices with modern rounded displays that have these ugly huge status bars.

Could the development team share if edge-to-edge on android is currently being worked on for upcoming updates, or if there is a tracking issue/ticket on Bugzilla I can follow?

Thank you!

I'd like to suggest a few features that would make browsing on Android much better. First, please add an option to hide the system status bar while browsing, so web pages can use the full screen for a cleaner, more immersive experience. Second, it would be great to have a true full-screen mode when watching reels or short vertical videos on any website, without the address bar or other interface elements getting in the way. Third, please let users pin their favorite extensions to the toolbar or main menu, so they can reach them in one tap instead of digging through the extensions menu every time. Finally, I'd love an option to show the open tabs and new tab buttons at the bottom of the screen instead of the top, since that's much easier to reach with one hand on today's large phones. I believe these changes would make Firefox more comfortable and competitive on mobile. Thank you for considering my suggestions, and keep up the great work!

On my PC I have an extensive bookmarks toolbar with Firefox. I now have a new Samsung Tab A11+ tablet, synced to Firefox on my PC, but I don't see a way to put the bookmarks toolbar on the main Firefox page on my tablet. I'm having to dig through layers of menus to access the toolbar every time I want to see a website. Is there some secret way to do this?

I have a Googlebook (laptop running Android) and I have Firefox Android installed. Currently it just looks like a scaled up phone browser. Is there a way to have it detect the "Android Desktop Environment" and be more like a desktop browser, mainly a bookmarks bar and a tab bar with vertical tabs? It would also be nice if it could handle mouse events (right click, etc). Thank you for your time.

I just updated my mobile browser for Android to the latest version and yet another unnecessary UI tweak has hit. This time is the icon next to the address bar for the tabs— why is it so small and hard to read? It's their any way to change back to box? Every time I update the mobile browser I regret it.

I know I will probably have to live with that (nonsense) new UI. But how to at least disable UI animations, so that the new menu appears immediately when I open it? I have reduced animations enabled in Android settings but firefox doesn't honor it.

I have animations disabled in Android, but Firefox seems to not honour it as of 1-2 days ago. When I close a tab (viewing tabs, swiping left/right on a tab) it now does some slow fade out instead of just being swiped off and disappearing like it used to.

I searched through the settings but can't find a way to disable this behaviour.

I have selected 'Dark/Auto' in my customization settings. I assumed this setting was meant strictly for the Firefox app UI theme, not to automatically force dark mode onto web pages. However, the issue now is that websites are being forcibly rendered in dark mode. I actually appreciate forced dark mode because it renders images and colored text cleanly without messing them up. The real problem is that I can't seem to find any option to turn it off. When I try enabling dark mode using a website's own native toggle, it displays inverted/negative colors, whereas light mode works properly. So my question and issue come down to this: how do I disable the feature that automatically forces dark mode on the websites I browse? (I haven't been able to find this setting anywhere.)
