I have tried many times to change my location that is displayed and it will not change. I do NOT live in the State displayed. Whey will it not change when I enter a different city, state or zip code? Constance Mahan Saint Charles, Missouri 63303

I've gone through the various troubleshooting options over the last month or so and Firefox is still crashing constantly for me, even in Troubleshooting mode. The tabs crash when I'm using a Google Doc, YouTube, Discord, doesn't matter the site; I've submitted about 20 crash reports this morning alone and failed to submit several more:

running version 142.0.1 on windows 10 on a pc. With the latest three updates of firefox, facebook is the only site that loads very slowly. No problem on a pad or cell phone using the same isp and mozilla. What happened?.

I’ve been using Firefox with a screen reader, and while it works for most basic browsing, I’ve noticed some issues with certain sites. For example, form fields aren’t always announced properly, and sometimes navigation landmarks are skipped. When I test the same pages in Chrome, the experience feels smoother.

I’d like to keep using Firefox, so I’m wondering — is there something I can adjust in my settings to improve screen reader support? Or is this more of a compatibility issue that needs to be reported as a bug?

If others here use screen readers with Firefox, I’d love to know what has worked for you. Are there specific add-ons, preferences, or troubleshooting steps that make accessibility better?

I have started to delay Firefox updates as much as possible. Takes hours to get things back to normal, i.e. it appears to be done and installed, but access to say Google just clocks and clocks and clocks. Hence, I've avoided updates as much as possible.

I have already unchecked the smooth scrolling setting. i have also tried with and without auto scrolling. This problem is only on firefox on my laptop. My desktop PC firefox does not have this problem, and no other program on my laptop is doing this. when i scroll with my mouse wheel, the page keeps moving for like a whole second after i stop turning the scroll wheel, like lingering movement. I Hate It and it didnt use to do this. I want the pages to stop moving way sooner and stop sliding around!!! My problem that toggling the 'use smooth scrolling' setting does literally nothing and its driving me crazy. wtf is this and how can i fix it

Since updating to Firefox 141.0 (Win11), I've had issues with performance and on-screen behaviour of dynamic web pages/sites. The problems do not manifest on Chrome, or on a reinstalled version of Fx 140.0.4 on the same computer running at the same time (and with copy of original profile's data files, extensions etc.), they do manifest on a new Firefox 141.0 profile with only one tab open.

The problem happens on dynamic pages (e.g. gmail.com, boardgamearena.com/lobby) but doesn't seem to happen on static pages. Note that this doesn't depend on page elements moving around the visible window (e.g. panels opening and closing).

The manifesting problems:

• Screen pointer rapidly switching between standard arrow pointer, mouse with index finger (clickable link) and serifed-style insertion bar, even when positioned on a part of the page that is not a link or a text box. Video (MP4, <1MB) showing behaviour at https://imgur.com/a/absjTh4.
• Browser intermittently fails to respond to browser actions (mouse clicks, keyboard entry)
• Small increase in browser CPU usage

Problem is worse if general CPU usage (from other applications) is already high - low CPU usage reduces but doesn't eliminate the problem. (Established by changing my BOINC settings and/or snoozing BOINC and observing; I have a gadget that monitors CPU and other resource usage.)

The fact that I can see the problem occurring on Fx 141 but have Fx 140.0.4 working fine at the same time on the same page, suggests that this is a Fx 141 issue. Regular malware scanner and an alternate found no issues.

Happy to do more diagnostic testing if it's helpful.

I'm experiencing slow webpage opening (all webpages) with Firefox, and the problem persists after disabling the doh setting on Firefox as described on Firefox support. So I tried to change the doh settings on the OS (my OS is Windows 11, which supports doh settings on the OS), when I tried to use only the doh provider (Alidns) in mainland China, Firefox could open web pages very fast, but after I added the doh provider Opendns) outside of mainland China. Firefox becomes very slow in loading web pages. This problem only occurs in Firefox, not in chrome or edge (I currently use both Alidns and Opendns, Alidns as first choice and Opendns as backup).

So I would like to ask if Firefox has a logic that determines the priority of dns usage, prioritizing one of the dns providers when there are more than one at the same time. If so, can I change this logic. Because using dns services from other regions in mainland China will encounter problems such as very high network latency, packet loss, etc., I set up different regional dns providers at the same time as a backup, and I mainly use the mainland China dns provider.

My temporary solution for now is to actively enable doh service on Firefox and customize Alidns as the service provider. This gets Firefox working, but I think it adds complexity. Best regards, someone

Description: We have encountered a significant performance issue with NativeMessaging API in Firefox when an extension communicates with a native application.

In scenarios where many objects must be enumerated (e.g., ~458 certificates), Firefox is dozens of times slower than Chromium-based browsers.

Environment:

Firefox (latest stable, reproduced in 2025)

Windows 11 x64

Same machine and same native plugin tested in Chrome, Edge, Yandex Browser

Steps to Reproduce:

Create a WebExtension that communicates with a native application via NativeMessaging.

Perform enumeration of a large number of objects (≈ 450–500).

Measure execution time in Firefox vs Chromium.

Actual results:

Firefox: enumeration of 458 objects takes ~2 min 30 sec

Chromium/Edge/Yandex Browser: enumeration of the same 458 objects takes ~5 sec

Additional tests: Round-trip time (RTT) for a single message:

Firefox: ~73.7 ms

Chromium: ~0.3 ms

Because the extension and the plugin exchange a large number of messages, this performance gap becomes critical.

Expected results: NativeMessaging API in Firefox should perform at a level comparable to Chromium browsers, so that extensions relying on heavy message exchange remain usable.

Although this bug is marked as resolved, performance testing still shows a major discrepancy in the current versions of Firefox.

Question: Is there any ongoing work or plan to optimize the implementation of NativeMessaging API in Firefox to address this performance issue?

Don't know whether this happened due to the recent Firefox update however, when I attempt to watch the above identified networks Firefox gets caught up in an endless loop and I cannot connect to watch on my desktop computer. Wondering whether other users have experienced the same issue and whether there is a resolution.

Running an old Mac mini and Catalina. Firefox 128.14.0esr (64-bit)

As of today I can't log in to PayPal from my desktop using Firefox as my browser, it says I am "blocked" I spoke to Paypal and the account is fine. From the same machine and the same internet connection, I can log in with Safari and do not get the Blocked message. I can log in via Safari and my iPad. I can log in with ethernet or WiFi (different ISPs, one BT, one Spitfire) as long as it isn't Firefox.

All signs point to the old browser. Can/will this be fixed? Cheers,

Is it possible to reverse the direction of side scrolling? Right now scrolling down while holding shift scrolls to the right and up to the left, can this be changed anywhere? Thanks!

Today I find out that was logged out of my Firefox accounts. it happends few time this week. When I tried to log in, I found that all my passwords were gone. The logins-backup.json file is empty. after i restore firefox account synchronization happened and I'm afraid that I lost all my passwords. so What can i do?

Hello, Iam using Bitdefender Secure Pass as passwordmanager, but since one or two weeks I have problems with the functionality on the laptop. I just can't open it. It is popping up and closing down immediately. Autofill in is not working as well. This is only when I use firefox, in chrome it is working. And on my mobile it is also working in firefox. I deinstalled and reinstalled the add on in firefox already. Afterwards it worked for a short time, but now it is the same again. Does somebody have experience with Bitdefender and an idea what I could do? Thank you in advance. Sabine

I have the Zynga app for poker downloaded on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. I rwceive emails frrlom them that give me free coins. To receive those coins I click on the "Claim Now" button.

Side note: There was never a problem with collecting coins from the app when I clicked on that button in the email I received. I should also say that this version of the ZyngaPoker Plus app I did not download from the Play Store like the original version. The "Plus" version let's players get more coins or chips for the cost rather than being redirected to their online store to get those better deals.

I now get the message: "Cannot Complete Request. Additional info about this issue or problem is currently unavailable". Then the "Try Again" button.

Which if you click the same error appears. I did notice that there is a "\" through the badge that is before the URL address of "zyngapoker.onelink.me/COG". I am not able to see if there is anything else passed those last letter. I click on the badge and turn off the Enhanced Protection for that website click the "Try Again" button but same issue...cannot complete blah blah blah. I even turned off the Enhanced Protection at the app level but no change.

I tried to give my exact scenario but if anything is unclear please ask and I will follow-up.
