With N900 link http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/alpha is installing 1.1, not 2.0. Why is that?

I tried to install 2.0 through repositories and the link (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/alpha). I was always rerturned to install 1.1 instead of 2.0. Why is that? Is 2.0 installable anywhere?

The link you posted http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/alpha gives this download URL http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-mobile-2.0a1&os=maemo&lang=en-US Doesn't it work for you? I personally run nightly builds on my N800 with no major hiccups. Maybe see https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Fennec#Building_and_Running_Fennec

There's a known problem where the N900 won't install any version of Fennec/Firefox except the one in the Ovi Store, which is Firefox 1.1: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=565709

We're working on fixing this. In the meantime, you can work around this problem by using a text editor to remove the "fennec" line from this file on your N900: /var/lib/hildon-application-manager/domain.nokia-system

I explored my N900 with chroot find, but I couldn't locate the file as specified above. I was missing the whole folder of "hildon-application-manager" too. Probably I could just wait a release.
