I've gotten help on this - extremely technical, but can consider my initial plea Solved. HOWEVER, can anybody explain how I have used a docx file for years as Chosen for my email signature, and since about May 24, 2024, it disappeared. Trying to put it back (Choose it again, check the box), it brings code.

Did my newest Thunderbird version change this????

Jackie, Honest, embedding a DOC file does not work. You may have copied the sentence from a DOC and stored that. The latest version did not cause the issue. Also, please mark this issue resolved, so that it is removed from open issues:
