I have recently set up an outlook email account with thuntherbird (default configuration), however I am having problems with the synchronization of sent emails.

When I set up the account, it did not sync any of the sent mail that I already had in my account.

When sending mail from thuntherbird, it does sync with the outlook server (if I log into the account from outlook I see the mail sent from thuntherbird), however if I send mail from outlook, it does not sync with Thuntherbird.

Do you have 'Place a copy in' unchecked in the Copies & Folders section of the outlook account? If not, it should be, as outlook copies sent messages to the Sent folder automatically. That might explain why messages don't sync (they do here with my hotmail account). Also, check that the Sent folder is subscribed in TB.

Do you have 'Place a copy in' unchecked in the Copies & Folders section of the outlook account? If not, it should be, as outlook copies sent messages to the Sent folder automatically. That might explain why messages don't sync (they do here with my hotmail account). Also, check that the Sent folder is subscribed in TB.

thank you very much sfhowes. problem was solved.

The issue was the following:

Thuntherbird by default subscribed "sent" folder, however the folder in which outlook web sent mails are saved is "sent items".

The solution was to manually subscribe the "sent items" folder.
