Warning I get in thunderbird when using..
I get a lot of these warnings when I try to delete a message , or when I try send a msg or get messages.. (There is not enough disk space to download new messages. Try deleting old mail, emptying the Trash folder, and compacting your mail folders, and then try again.) Can someone help me with why this pops up and what I can do about it.. It is probably because you computers hard disk is full. Or Thunderbird can not allocate space on the disk because other software like anti virus is actively blocking it.
Normally I would guess on it being a small solid start drive that is full (apple or windows 10), but being windows 7 I would guess a temp folder full of years of junk or anti virus issue.
I suggest you try running disk cleanup as a starting point. Instructions using Windows 7 courtesy of the university of Delaware here https://www1.udel.edu/topics_css/windows7/diskcleanup-windows7.html
Microsoft also offer tips on freeing space for windows 8.1. They are equally relevant in Windows 7
