I just purchased , downloaded and installed the VPN. On the toolbar in FF, there is a little yellow icon which says Firefox Private Network is inactive. When I click it, it tells me to login to the VPN. I do so. It STILL says it is inactive. I keep trying help, etc, but nothing works.

Hi there,

thank you for posting on the forum!

Please note that the VPN is a stand alone app and different from the Firefox Private Network Extension.

The Firefox Private Network is an extension that provides a secure, encrypted tunnel to the web to protect your connection and your personal information anywhere you use the Firefox browser. This is different from the Mozilla VPN app which is a downloadable app that protects your whole device when connected to the internet.

You can learn more about these products here:

If you have indeed purchased the VPN and not the FPN, visit vpn.mozilla.org, sign in to your Firefox account and follow the on screen instructions to download/install the VPN to your device.

Once installed, locate the Mozilla VPN icon on your device and click/tap it to launch. You may have to sign into your Firefox account after launching, but afterwards you can immediately begin use of the VPN by clicking/tapping the toggle switch at the center of the screen. As soon as it shows you're connected, your traffic will be encrypted and routed through one of our secure servers.
