eBay notifications get sent to junk folder, no matter what I do
Hi -
My eBay notifications are going into the funk folder. Not all of them. But many. I see no pattern to which ones do and which ones don't.
Again and again I've created "filters" to send all emails coming from eBay to the appropriate inbox (I have two eBay accounts associated with two different email addresses, both in my Thunderbird client). The filters do nothing.
I've tried marking the emails as "not junk." I've tried deleting all the filters and starting over. Nothing works.
It's as if Thunderbird so dislikes eBay (or me) that it sends their email to the junk folder, no matter what. I can practically hear the bird blowing raspberries at me.
This wouldn't be a big deal except that the emails are telling me I've sold something and need to ship it, or that a potential customer has a question, or a listing has expired, etc.
How do I fix this?
And why is it that marking emails as "junk" or as "not junk" and setting up filters to send things where you want them to go, doesn't work and doesn't change anything? What could I possibly be doing wrong?
I thought updating to the latest version of Thunderbird might help. It only got worse. I thought donating to Mozilla might make the Thunderbird like me more... but no.
Please, in plain English for a philosophy major who is not simpleminded but also not a computer geek (no lingo, please, pretend you're explaining it to your gramma)...
How do I get my eBay emails to go into the proper inbox and not into a junk folder?
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

I would disable TB's Junk Controls for the account, in Tools/Account Settings, and whitelist the ebay senders in the webmail settings for the account, possibly by adding them to webmail contacts. If the account is IMAP in TB, the mail provider's Spam/Bulk folder can be subscribed to monitor its actions.
Thanks, @sfhowes, I'll give that a try! - Liza
