I have 2 thunderbird email accounts with identical names how do i remove 1 account

somehow I must have created a second email account with the identical name of the first one. I now receive identical emails in both accounts and would like to eliminate the unneeded extra account.

Delete the extra account?

two accounts with identical names cannot be "deleted". the delete option is grayed out. I tried simple delete already.

I think it may help if you provide the Troubleshooting Information, so we can be sure what we are working with.

To find the Troubleshooting information:

  • Open Help (or click on three-line-icon and select Help)
  • Choose Troubleshooting Information
  • Clear the check box Include account names
  • Use the button Copy to clipboard to select all.
  • Paste this into your reply to this forum.
