Republic of Ireland. Why is it not on the list of countries. Why are there no FirefoxOS devices available in Ireland.

Guys and Girls...

This is very very very very frustrating and annoying.

I am looking at the list of countries. There is no "Ireland" or "Republic of Ireland" on it. That's disturbing.

Also - NONE of the Irish mobile ISPs has a single FirefoxOS device in their offer... WHY?!

I know. I can buy one from e-bay. Sure. But that's not the point.

So... What the heck ladles and jellyspoons?

Cheers.

Andrzej

I understand the point that you are trying to make. It ultimately depends on the carriers available and manufacturers that are willing to partner with each other deliver the launch the phone in the respective countries. Mozilla is responsible for the development of the software and less of the support side of the device which is handled by the manufacturer. You should contact the available carriers in Ireland to see if or when they are willing to carry devices running Firefox OS.

There has been no official launches with Firefox OS in your respective country. You can sign up for email updates to know about launches on the same page you were on viewing the list of countries Firefox OS is available in.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hello Andrew... That's a great name. Nearly as great as mine... Oh wait... ;)

Yes... The answer was kinda obvious but still not the answer I was looking for. Yes Ireland is not on the list because there was no official launch in Ireland. But that was kinda the question I was asking. WHY was there no official launch in Ireland. Were the FirefoxOS devs attacked by Leprechauns when they arrived with their product? Or maybe you don't like Jameson or Guinness... C'mon guys. What's up with that... Are we not worthy of your product?

Cheers.

Ok... I guess I will have to ebay for it then... There is a problem with the mobile service providers in Ireland. I asked them about the FirefoxOS devices - they never replied. Another thing is - they do not listen. I mean... cistern block listens better... iStuff - of coz they do have... but you see... Firefox devices are not overpriced and they do work... so no. Problem with ebay is that not every Firefox device is available there. Seen ZTE and Alcatel One. Not much more beside this.

I guess I will mark it as solved but with a bitter aftertaste of disappointment...

Cheers.
