I need a password to revive a thunderbird account. lost it in a computer repair shop. I have got it back but the program is asking for a password.
I started using Thunderbird many years ago. I'm not sure there was need for a password at that time. CenturyLink is my internet provider and I can read my mail. Thunderbird has a large list of American Legion addresses I'd like to get back if possible.

Centurylink will almost certainly required that you use a password but you probably stored it in Thunderbird and have forgotten it.
If you did store it in Thunderbird then you may have chosen to use a Master Password and that may be what the program is now asking for.
I don't know of any way to unlock passwords stored under the Master Password other than to reset it and in doing so, erase all the stored passwords. I'll need to look this up for you if it sounds like what you need to do.
I use LastPass to store all my passwords. I do not under stand losing all my passwords The Centurylink password does not work.
LastPass is fine for website passwords and pretty much useless for anything else. It doesn't have any easy way to work with email passwords in a client such as Thunderbird.
But I think now that you're looking for an address book and for that no password is needed.
You were asking, IIRC, about a lost password and now you're looking for lost email addresses. Have you changed your question?
