How do I work off line on one email address and keep the rest online

I need to temporarily deactivate one email address while keeping the other two online - Is this possible or do I have to delete the account and recreate it at a later date?

Thunderbird always keeps the mail for offline access.

You can move the folders to local folder to access, after removing the email id.

I took the precaution of moving the emails I wanted to keep before I deleted the account. It seemed easier as there wer not a lot of them
