Why doesn't dictionairy downloads work to intergrate in thunderbird within windows 8.1 and what mst I do to make it work?

The page with the selected dictionary opens. Click on 'Add to Thunderbird' button A small window appears asking what to do. Select 'Save File' and click on OK choose where to save the file. In Thunderbird: Tools > Addons click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file' Select the xpi file you downloaded and click on Open. If computer says 'Install addon only from authors you trust' select the dictionary and click on 'Install Now' There will be mesage 'Dictionary has bee installed succesfully.' click on 'Open Add-ons Manager' button to show or you locate it under the 'Dictionaries' icon - at bottom of list on left side. You can now close the 'Addons' tab Check it is selected : Tools > Options > Composition > spelling tab Language - select from drop down. Click on OK If you have more than dictionary you can select it from the Spell check window. Usually, you do not have to restart Thunderbird for dictionaries but if prompted please restart.
