You can connect Thunderbird with Google Calendar following these steps:
# Open the Calendar tab in Thunderbird (CTRL + 3)
# From the bottom of the left sidebar, click "New calendar"
# From the prompt asking where to store the calendar, choose "On the network"
# Type in the your email address (Gmail or Google Workspace) as the username, Thunderbird will recognize it as a Google Calendar address automatically
# Complete the Google sign in process that appears in another window
# Select the calendars you want to add to Thunderbird
# Complete the process by clicking "Subscribe" from the create calendar window
This article describes how to use Google calendars together with Thunderbird. You can use Google calendars in two ways. You can either have read-only access to public calendars or you can use a bi-directional calendar, with both read and write-access.

Before you start the steps below go to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect and select the calendars you want to synchronize.
== Add Calendars ==
To get read/write access to a calendar you can simply select "New Calendar..." > "On the Network" and then enter your Google account address as username. This should start the Google sign-in flow. (In case of errors please retry at least once). After giving Thunderbird access to your calendars you should be able to select any of the calendars you enabled in the previous step and add them to Thunderbird.
