Quite often, whenever I see a video like Youtube, the shockwave plugin crashes and I read:

I read all similar posts and relative solutions. None works for me.

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is otherwise interfering with downloading files.

Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Yes it is possible. But I do not understand why the anti-virus software interferes only with Firefox and not with IE and Chrome.

Does it help if you disable other plugins like VLC?
