I've been having intermittent crashes since I've updated to Firefox 15, the crashes have continued since I've updated to Firefox 15.0.1. The crashes do not occur when I am in safe mode, and all plug-ins are enabled. However, they do occur when I am in normal mode with all addons and plug-ins disabled. Additionally I have tried disabling hardware acceleration in normal mode and the crashes still occur, while browsing in safe mode with hardware acceleration enabled is stable.

The crashes do not appear to be related to any particular web page, but they most often happen when I am either changing to a previously open tab, opening a new page, or opening a new tab.

Finally, I have Firefox on another Windows 7 computer with similar settings, and on a Mac laptop with similar settings and both of those have been stable in version 15 and 15.0.1. I was not experiencing any of these issues prior to upgrading to Firefox 15.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can also try to disable hardware acceleration in the Flash player and disable protected mode in the Flash player

I appreciate the quick response. I've been testing it the last few hours, and it looks like your suggestions worked.

Initially I tried all of the suggestions, but I found that Firefox was stable if I disabled hardware acceleration from within Firefox, and turned off the protected mode in the flash player. I did not change hardware acceleration from within the flash player at all, and things still seem stable.

I'm still not sure why these settings still work fine on my other computers, but my guess is it may have something to do with the specifics of my video card/driver setup.

Thanks again for your help.
