You can have multi-row Bookmarks Toolbar and/or icons only with this Add-on:

You can of course abbreviate the names of your bookmarks(right down to nothing if you are familiar with the icon) - right click on bookmark>properties>alter name.

You can also group similar bookmarks into folders with a short name - right click on Bookmarks Toolbar>New folder>drag bookmarks into folder and save new ones to folders. You can open at once all the bookmarks in a folder.

Pardon me if you know this but not everyone does - the Bookmarks Toolbar overflow spills down the right side of the screen, accessible via the chevrons(arrowheads) >> at the end of the toolbar.

There is a De-iconiser extension you could look up. I prefer to use icons 0n their own, icons with the briefest names and folders. I'm very familiar with my very full toolbar and don't mind if some of the bookmarks are out of sight but easily accessible.
