What has happened to the Tab Close X in FF5?
I know about Ctl-W and about right clicking then closing the tab from the menu, but the simple X button was much easier. How can I get it back ?

You can middle click with the mouse scroll button a tab to close that tab.
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

You can also try to reset the pref via the Safe mode start window.
Strange thing - I have made no changes, but they have re-appeared today!
