i used ie7 ie8 then turned to firefox 3.xx and saw the light. frefox 4.xx im back in the darkness. windows explorer firefox.exe plugin-container.exe everthing hangs cpu is at 100% if i kill firefox.exe process the plugin-container.exe procerss dies and explorer.exe is free´d up. sometimes the whole fkin xp bluscreens or it hangs itselfs and i have to use the reset button.

I swore I would never use Chrome. But right now it is the better browser. At least it doesn't grab over 50% of my CPU out of the blue for no reason.

I too have switched to Chrome until Mozilla Firefox gets this issue straightened out. Chrome is working great!!! My computer no longer freezes up, slows down, and it doesn't appear to be a resource hog! I can have several windows open at the same time and my speed is not affected. I'm very impressed with Chrome at the moment. And very frustrated with Firefox!

Try updating your plugins. If firefox is still using CPU and memory, try running it in Safe Mode
