Translation feature cannot work

王瀚洋

I'm currently in China and using the latest stable version of Firefox for iOS (v152.0). However, I soon found out the new translation feature didn't work. After I clicked the translate button, it just sat there loading for a long time, then prompted me to retry. From what I've read, this feature is supposed to run fully offline and doesn't require an internet connection, so it's weird that it fails at all—especially when Safari's translation works perfectly. So is there something I should try?

Seems like the v152.1 has fixed the problem. It works perfectly now.

Hi there,

Thank you for using Firefox for iOS and for your excitement for the translation feature. As far as I know, translation on iOS is still limited to German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese and English. But I know the team is working to support more languages in the future. So, finger crossed we'll be able to support Chinese languages in the future.
