You are using Firefox 108.

So if that is incompatible I don't see programmers going back to change that.

Is it a problem updating 108 or can you use an older WA ?

Unless it changed again, the web whatsapp site is looking for Firefox 115.0 and later. Firefox 115 ESR in which the last upstate Fx 115.33.0esr (Feb 24) is for Windows 7, 8, 8.1.
