I have just reactivated a (duplicate) computer which I have only used 2 or3 times in the last year. I have been asked to re-input my Firefox password. Now it wants me to sync Firefox with my (android) phone.

For some reason, Firefox has not been installed on my phone, although other browsers that I have never previously heard of seem to have auto-installed themselves.

I have tried to download the "no fuss" version of Firefox, but it is asking for credit card details. Other browsers allowed me to skip this step, but Firefox will not allow me to proceed, and does not provide a "skip" facillity.

I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to allow my credit card details to be stored on my phone or in a browser. Storing the credit card data would not confer any advantage, because I have multiple credit cards, and I select the card for each transaction according to my location, the currency being billed, and whether the card offers cashback or loyalty points for the type of transaction I am making.

Has anybody else encountered this problem ?

Hi

Are you referring to Firefox Focus for Android? You do not need to provide credit card details if you are trying to install this app from the Google Play store - the app is free to download.

The Google Play store may ask for credit card details to assist in the purchase of apps and services - if you have a concern about this, please contact the Google Play support team.
