If i am on "computer 1 at work" and use the sync tab, will my "computer 1 at work" sync to my "computer 2 at home", OR will "computer 2 at home" be synced to "computer 1 at work"? I don't want to lose my passwords or bookmark toolbar items. I also do not want personal items from my home computer on my work computer.

I recommend not using your work computer to sync as anything you do on it the company owns and sees it. So leave sync to personal laptop or phone and home usage. Sync is both ways there no separating it.

If you are allowed to use usb flash drives on work computer, you could perhaps use portable Firefox. It is basically the official build of Firefox with a custom launcher that keeps everything self contained, say running completely off a usb flash drive for example. https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
