Why is cryptographic module PKCS#11 to use smart card deleted from security devices after every FF upgrade ?
I'm accessing site that requires a client certificate, located on a smart card. To use it, security device (PKCS#11 module) needs to be installed to FF. After every FF upgrade, this module is deleted from security device and I need to install it again. Is this a bug or a "feature" ?

This shouldn't happen. Do you lose other personal data as well?
If you lost personal data then it is possible that a new default-release profile folder has been created. See "Determine if Firefox has created a new profile":

Firefox 67 and later can use a dedicated profile for each of the Firefox update channels and will lock the profile, so it can only be used by Firefox in a specific installation folder. For Release versions this profile would be a xxxxxxxx.default-release profile, profiles used in older Firefox versions usually used a xxxxxxxx.default profile (a refresh adds a time stamp).

no, nothing else is lost. Profile stays the same. I could be wrong about module being deleted when FF is upgraded though. Maybe it gets deleted by some other process, I just can't image by what. AV software ?
