how to right click on a picture and send it no longer works ?

Using thunderbird e mail on windows :- In a folder of pictures I used to select the pictures, right click and select send by e -mail, box came up saying "attach", click this then e mail would come up with the attachments and a blank address for me to input. I go through the above , and after I click attach nothing comes up just the thunderbird e mail page of my account inbox etc ..? Please help me...
