This started happening with the recent windows 10 update. It doesn't bother me so much as my friends who get a notification when they're playing simply because I'm using the internet on my PC with my Xbox turned off.

Xbox notification and settings are in the latest FCU update you have to go there and see what settings where put in place there FF doesn't control xbox settings that is in Windows setting that controls that.

I have all settings in Game DVR/Game Bar disabled on the xbox app. I can not delete Firefox from "my games" in the xbox app either. I have confirmed that other games can be deleted. I asked Microsoft Support how to disable/remove it and they told me to talk to Firefox Support
