How do I get rid of "Bing"? have tried making firefox default browserbut didn'twork
Bing somehow installed itself on my computer. I have gone the options route and repeatledly selected "make Firefox my default browser but it never happens. I don't like Bing. I want firefox back. If all else fails will uninstall firefox and re download it. THat would use too much of my limited bytes.

Hi AliceMurphy, Bing normally is the default in Internet Explorer, but you should be able to choose your own default search engine in Firefox without interference.
One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any system extensions that Firefox installs on its own are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious -- especially if it has search in the name? If in doubt, disable.
After the cleanup, you might need to restore your preferred settings here:

Success?
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Bing “ Anything.
Also look for SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine
Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
